영문 에세이를 쓸 때나 학교내신시험에서 소홀히 여겨 실수하기 쉬운 구두점에 대해 배우는 비디오 강의입니다.

구두점(punctuation)은 문장의 끝에 와서 문장을 완성시키는 중요한 역할을 해요.

1. 마침표(period)-  문장의 종결을 의미하고, 하나의 의미를 갖고 있는 문장이 끝났음을 알림.

 period 뒤에 오는 다른 의미를 전달하는 새로운 문장의 첫 단어는 반드시 대문자(capital  letter)로 시작해야 함.

2. 느낌표(exclamation mark)- 감정을 표현하는 부호임. 학술적인 글(academic writing)에서는 굳이 느낌표를 사용할 필요가 없음.

3. 물음표(question mark)- 질문을 나타내는 문장부호.

구두점이 중요한 것을 알았으니 앞으로 글을 쓸 때 run-on sentence(무종지문- 구두점 없이 2개 이상의 문장이 부적절하게 연결된 문장)를 사용하지 않도록 주의해야겠죠?
