접속사(conjunction) if와 whether의 사용에 대한 강의인데요...
그동안 if와 whether을 혼동 없이 잘 사용해왔나요?

if와 whether는 명사절(noun clause)에서 둘 다 비슷하게 사용될 수 있어요.
하지만 if는 조건적(conditional) 의미를 가지고 있고,
whether는 2개의 선택사항(alternatives)이 주어질 때 사용되는 표현이라는 것을 염두에 두고 사용해야 실수를 피할 수 있어요.
덧붙여, whether는 ~에 상관없이(regardless)라는 양보의 의미를 가지고 있다는 것도 기억해야겠죠?
